About the GP™ Dynamic Microchamber (GP DMC)

The GP™ DMC is a computer-integrated small scale formaldehyde emissions test system that can provide results for approximately 11 samples in 3½ hours – more than twice the capability compared to using the ASTM D6007-02 small scale chamber test methodology.

The California Air Resources Board (CARB) lists the GP DMC as an approved alternative small scale quality control test method for all composite wood products manufacturers when users completely follow all operational parameters specified in the GP Dynamic Microchamber User Manual, dated March 2007or the updated Manual, dated March 2012. The GP DMC correlates to the Large Scale Chamber Test method (ASTM E 1333-96(2002) and the Small Scale Chamber Test (ASTM D 6007-02). The GP DMC emissions test system is also capable of performing an Equilibrium Test. The Equilibrium Test provides an emission data point that has been shown to correlate with a perforator test.

The GP DMC has been used in North America for over 20 years and is also used by manufacturers in Europe and South America.

Experts from Georgia-Pacific Chemicals developed and continue to enhance the patented GP DMC technology for testing formaldehyde emissions.

New 2012 patent-pending technology containing upgraded software enables users to address today’s stringent formaldehyde testing requirements with even more confidence –even when testing for ULEF Reduced or ULEF Exempt standards. With these enhancements, the GP DMC has been shown to be accurate to 0.005 PPM at a range of .01 to .2 PPM and accurate to 0.009 up to 0.35 PPM.*

Georgia-Pacific Chemicals is the exclusive technical service provider for the GP DMC.

The enhanced accuracy GP™ DMC system is approved by the California Air Resources Board (CARB). It incorporates the new GP™ DMC manual, annual calibration, and GP DMC Software Version 1.20 (includes new test and calibration procedures).
